Beth ArnoultBeth Arnoult’s seven-year-old son, Jacques, has grown up on the tour. She lives in Maui for the one-story living and independence it affords. Her ATV 4 x 4 flipped on sand dunes in Las Vegas as her boyfriend-future husband watched. She fought going into a wheelchair for three years. When she heard her biological clock ticking, she decided to get on with life and have a baby. Wanting to lose her baby fat led Beth to tennis. Beth's desire to make Team USA is palpable. Sharon ClarkSharon Clark is the No. 1 American woman. After a day of skiing, she was instantly paralyzed when the car she was riding in skidded on black ice. Sharon wanted to get into sports immediately because she "had played sports her whole life." Sharon is one of Home Depot's Paralympians and loves to compete. She makes time to mentor newly injured teens and lures them to tennis. Sharon is juggling her Paralympic training with planning her wedding to Patrick. We meet Jackie, her seventeen-year-old mentee, at a Saturday morning tennis practice.

Larry QuinteroLarry Quintero was on a baseball recruiting trip when he was shot by party crashers. Since he couldn't play baseball, Larry turned to wheelchair tennis. Larry is a stay at home dad who heads for the gym every day at five. He says, "If my wife, Kelly, was high maintenance, I couldn't do what I'm doing. She's knows what I'm after." Kelly agrees, "How can I object to something that's good for us?" Although Larry is training hard for the Paralympics, he doesn’t enjoy traveling and being away from his family. Larry loves caring for his daughter and is already teaching her tennis.

Nick TaylorNick Taylor was born with his feet twisted behind his ears. Thirty surgeries later, Nick, in a wheelchair, played number one singles for his able-bodied high school tennis team. In 2002, he won the US Open. Nick is also a college honors senior. Three weeks before World Team Cup, Nick and his wheelchair were hit by a car. Before lapsing into unconsciousness, he bade his father tell the coaches he would be in Poland. He made it to Poland, played with a broken arm, and helped the US win gold. Making the Paralympics has been his "goal from Day One." VIEW VIDEO OF NICK TAYLOR


Steve WelchSteve Welch, No. 1 American, has a bone disease but won two wheelchair basketball NCAA titles and two MVP awards. He has also won five NWBA national championships and three MVP awards. Steve has legendary mobility and is the fastest man on the court. His difficulty is choosing between tennis and basketball. In the last half of the basketball season, he joins the Mavericks. Steve has two silver Olympic medals, which he hopes to replace with gold in Athens. He also plays an amazing piano and beat a 4.0 writer from Tennis magazine.
