Beth
Arnoult’s seven-year-old son, Jacques, has
grown up on the tour. She lives in Maui for the one-story
living and independence it affords. Her ATV 4 x 4 flipped
on sand dunes in Las Vegas as her boyfriend-future husband
watched. She fought going into a wheelchair for three years.
When she heard her biological clock ticking, she decided to
get on with life and have a baby. Wanting to lose her baby
fat led Beth to tennis. Beth's desire to make Team USA is
palpable. She is #5, and only the top four go to Athens. The
pressure is mounting. VIEW VIDEO OF BETH ARNOULT
Sharon
Clark is the No. 1 American woman. After a day of skiing,
she was instantly paralyzed when the car she was riding in skidded
on black ice. Sharon wanted to get into sports immediately because
she "had played sports her whole life." Sharon is one
of Home Depot's Paralympians and loves to compete. She makes time
to mentor newly injured teens and lures them to tennis. Sharon
is juggling her Paralympic training with planning her wedding
to Patrick. We meet Jackie, her seventeen-year-old mentee, at
a Saturday morning tennis practice.

Larry
Quintero was on a baseball recruiting trip when he was
shot by party crashers. Since he couldn't play baseball, Larry
turned to wheelchair tennis. Larry is a stay at home dad who heads
for the gym every day at five. He says, "If my wife, Kelly,
was high maintenance, I couldn't do what I'm doing. She's knows
what I'm after." Kelly agrees, "How can I object to
something that's good for us?" Although Larry is training
hard for the Paralympics, he doesn’t enjoy traveling and
being away from his family. Larry loves caring for his daughter
and is already teaching her tennis.

Nick
Taylor was born with his feet twisted behind his ears.
Thirty surgeries later, Nick, in a wheelchair, played number one
singles for his able-bodied high school tennis team. In 2002,
he won the US Open. Nick is also a college honors senior. Three
weeks before World Team Cup, Nick and his wheelchair were hit
by a car. Before lapsing into unconsciousness, he bade his father
tell the coaches he would be in Poland. He made it to Poland,
played with a broken arm, and helped the US win gold. Making the
Paralympics has been his "goal from Day One." VIEW VIDEO

half of the basketball season, he joins the Mavericks. Steve has
